General coaching and consulting services:

My passion for career coaching and consulting comes from my own experiences. I learned early that academia is often built in ways that make this basic goal difficult. I pair training and skills in coaching with consulting that draws on my MBA and 15+ years of experience in:

• developing, building, and growing large federally and foundation-funded research centers

• holding senior administrative roles that support other scientists

• developing and proposing business plans and budgets that align

• recruiting faculty at all career stages

• building a staff cohort that grows with the research program

I have coached dozens of faculty at all stages; and, I have particular expertise in coaching mid-career and senior academics. This phase of life can be lonely. You may be one of only a few research faculty at this stage in your Division or Department, and/or, you may not feel comfortable getting advice from professional peers locally or nationally. Your career goals may be evolving, you may be experiencing a career transition, and this may be happening at the same time as significant caregiving demands and financial stresses. As someone who is also at this career stage, these are challenges I understand well, particularly as a woman in science. In addition to providing specific coaching and consulting services, I hope part of my value-add is to validate your experience, lessen any sense of isolation, and serve as a strong peer support outside of your discipline.

The core of this service is confidential, one-on-one guidance. I will help you identify what academic success looks like for you, and help you identify concrete steps to get there.
