Career coaching and consulting services:

I initially developed my passion for career coaching and consulting through my own experiences, and by helping my mentees and colleagues navigate the (sometimes treacherous) landscape that is academia. During my career, I have coached early, mid-career and senior investigators as they go through this particularly challenging phase of life. This can include:

• evolving career goals

• job market exploration

• negotiation (internally or externally) for compensation and resources

• navigating a career transition

These experiences often occur at the same time as financial stresses, relationship challenges, and shifts in major personal responsibilities such as caregiving.

Mid-career and senior academic life can be lonely. You may be one of only a few research faculty at this stage in your Division or Department, and/or, you may not feel comfortable getting advice from professional peers locally or nationally. As someone who is also at this career stage, these are challenges I understand well, particularly as a woman in science. In addition to providing specific coaching and consulting services, I hope part of my value-add is to validate your experience, lessen any sense of isolation, and serve as a strong peer support outside of your discipline.

The core of this service is confidential, one-on-one guidance. I will help you identify what academic success looks like for you, and help you identify concrete steps to get there.
